MAY RACE DAY Pat Yoas, Jerry Wall and Cloyce Wall traveled north and west to Eagle Canyon Raceway (sw of Gainsville) to watch the racers on Sunday. We had originally planned on going on Saturday, however, with the rain figured not much would be going on. Much to our chagrin, they did run Sat but you sure couldn't have asked for a better day than Sun. Kirk Phillips was also in attendance. Fred Crowley, in his Union 76 BT7 was the only NTAHC Healey running and running well. Tom Taff was exercising his Porsche 914 which was sporting a new paint job. Janice, Janell & Jake comprised Fred's cheering section while Marti was in her cheerleading outfit rooting Tom to greater heights. Also seen for the second time this month (ABCD being the first) was the grand old man of racing, J.C. Kilburn. J.C.'s 79 and looking fit as a fiddle. This is a great road course, however, the spectator viewing areas are rather limited. |
